In Loving Memory of Leslie Jarmon

Leslie Hope Jarmon, (October 16, 1952- November 24, 2009), was a true inspiration and pioneer of innovation. She was the first person in the world to submit her dissertation on CD-ROM, and continued many firsts with her ground breaking work in Second Life and the Educators Coop.

I had the privilege of working with Leslie and her colleague Joe Sanchez last year creating a virtual global event in Teen Second Life, educating teens about the importance of pursuing a career in technology. Her energy and passion were contagious and she will be missed by all of us here at Girlstart.
